Madalyn, I challenge you!
You posted about your overflowing stash, and then you went and bought MORE yarn for it.
I commented that maybe you have more yarn than me now (highly unlikely, but you never know how much you’ve crammed into those bins!).
So I challenge you to a stash count.
Some time by the end of the month, we both tally up our yarn and see how much we all have. It’s not a contest, there are no winners or losers, no prizes, just let’s see how much we actually have.
I think we should do it by yardage.
If we put it all in Ravelry, then we can use the spreadsheet function to have it total up the yardage for us!
For partial balls, just estimate how much is there (1/4, 1/2, 3/4 ball – Ravelry will figure up the yardage for you).
So, do you accept the challenge?

I’ve been reading Ruth’s blog for a couple of years now, and always love her posts about how she comes up with the colorways she dyes. For awhile, she was doing her dyeing all for herself. But she is now selling it! She takes most of her colorways from things she photographs in nature.
I splurged (or so I thought) on a skein of the Blackberry she recently dyed. It was just spot on, and I thought, “I don’t have any purple in my stash.” So there you go.
Bonus: she’s in Canada, which I didn’t realize, and with the exchange rate, the yarn was cheaper than I thought!
I will be buying more. I wonder what she’ll come up with next?
Oh, and she threw in the shawl pin she made for free! The jewelry she makes is so beautiful too.

Look, it’s like getting presents in the mail! They make it so you forget you PAID for this.
The yarns are both Cherry Tree Hill Sock It To Me. I have no idea if this is a “good” yarn or not, but the colors are pretty!

So, still very very little knitting from me. I have made 4 leaves for the Vintage socks, but that’s it. I think my hand and arm can handle some sock knitting, but I’m just not motivated. I think I may need to start a simple stockinette or other simple pattern to get back into it.
I did buy another skein of yarn yesterday, like I said, if you can’t knit it, buy it.

This morning, a coworker brought a package to my desk. It was from our company office in Norfolk. I wasn’t expecting anything, so had no idea what it could be.
Yarn! Good yarn! And a pattern for a kid’s bolero sweater.
Blue for Emily and Red for Sam.
Sent by a coworker just as a “Thanks for all you do.”
