I love this yarn. I have a couple of tops that are red & black, and I’ve never had a pair of handknit socks to match them.

Now I do!
The yarn had a lot more orange in it than I initially thought, but it’s still perfect (and thus it also matches anything orangey I may wear too!)
I really like the Patons Kroy sock yarn too. It’s soft and strong, and the colors are nice & vibrant. And it’s available in big-box stores, so it’s easy to obtain. Which I think I will be doing…my mom really liked this yarn too, and wants a pair of her own – but I only have 1 full skein left and some small bits of leftovers. Not enough for a full pair of socks for her (especially since I’ve been informed she wants the legs long!). So I will probably pick up another skein someday.

It’s coming along. I took a break from the Cthulhuclava to finish the heel.

The more I knit it, the more I’m loving this yarn.
Mom likes it too. Luckily I should have enough to knit 2 pairs out of it!
Cruising on the sock. I’m halfway through the heel on #1.
I finished the neck of the Cthulhuclava, on to the wacky world of the head!
There’s more orange in this yarn than I thought.
But I like it!
The Patons Kroy is just ever-so-slightly thicker than some other sock yarns I’ve used. So these socks are going to come out cushier and denser. Perfect!
I surprised myself at how much I knit last night. About 3 inches! It goes so quickly when it’s a plain stockinette sock. I can knit without looking at the stitches, while watching TV (So You Think You Can Dance last night), and no having to look at a pattern either.
Fun, fun!
