We didn’t have a specific theme for our Summer swap, other than we were sort of going for “Friendship Day” which is August 1.
I get an F in Friendship though, I didn’t get my gift in time for Madalyn to receive it by Friendship Day, but I think it turned out okay. :)
And what did Madalyn send me?
A totally awesome chicken for my kitchen! It’s so cute. And it matches perfectly. She’s had many locations around the kitchen so far. On the island, on the table, on the counter on the left, on the counter on the right.
I may find a little shelf to hang for it to sit on somewhere.
She also sent me a really cool button.
I’m sure this will find it’s home on a knitting project someday!
Thanks Madalyn!
Several weeks ago, Madalyn and I exchanged our spring Pleasingly Perfecto Personal Presents. And we finally made a pact to take photos of them and post this weekend!
Madalyn sent me:

The cutest egg salt & pepper shakers! They are SO ME.
The eggs have an ever-so-slight blue cast to them in certain light. With pewter(?) leaf bases. They are just so cute!

And there were also a couple of hand-made birthday cards in the package. I will have to save these for some special people.
Visit Madalyn to see what I sent her.
Madalyn’s gift to me this season was all Peanuts-themed. The soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas (which I didn’t own yet, can you believe that?) and a book I didn’t even know existed. It has all of the stories that they have turned into cartoons and show on TV. The Great Pumpkin, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Perfecto! The girls will love reading them.
Thanks, Madalyn!

Every so often, Madalyn & I would bring up the topic of swaps. We have both joined them in the past, and had somewhat “meh” reactions. She had a flakey gifter and didn’t really get out of it what she put in, and my giftee didn’t have a blog at the time, so it made it hard to figure out what to send her (my gifter, on the other hand was awesome). So we haven’t joined any swaps since. We’d see a new one and think “that could be fun” and then once we get to talking about it, the old feelings came up and we didn’t join.
So we hatched a new plan. We’d have our own swap! We know each other pretty well, have visited each others’ houses, know what each other likes & dislikes. And we had to come up with a ridiculously long name for it of course. Pleasingly Perfecto Personal Presents was born!
We decided we’d do a seasonal swap. The “theme” then can be the season or the nearest holiday. Yarn/knitting/crafting can be involved, but it’s not required (because frankly, we both decided we have too much yarn!).

Fall Towels! Which match my house! And a turkey one for Thanksgiving! PERFECTO! And S’mores candy corn. Which don’t taste like smores – they taste more like butterscotch? They’re still yummy. :) Maybe if I eat more they will taste more like S’mores.

We also created our own group on Ravelry. It’s called The Madalyn & Natalie Show. Why? Well, we would have these long email/ravelry PM conversations that would start out on one topic and change about 50 times. Eventually they had nothing to do with the original topic. Then we’d go back to the original idea. It was getting confusing! So this way we can have many topics going at once. Feel free to stop in and chat along with us? So far no one other than us has posted anything. But I see there have been some lurkers! :)
