Heirloom Seeds

My boss recently visited Monticello, and brought me back these heirloom seeds collected from the gardens there.

How cool is that?

I’ll have to collect seeds from all 3 of these to keep growing them in years to come.

Perennial Pea. This is a flowering plant, not a fruiting plant. It says it can grow up to 10 feet tall! I’ll have to get a trellis for this, and find a spot where it can grow grow grow.

‘Paris White’ Cos Lettuce. A “Cos” lettuce is like Romaine. It forms tall heads.

‘Tennis-Ball’ Lettuce. This one forms little heads around the size of a tennis ball. It’s an ancestor to the Boston or Bibb lettuces of today.
