Have you ever heard of a Guanaco?
Yeah, me neither.
So when I was at The Fiber Factory in Mesa, AZ, and saw a little package of brown fiber that said “Guanaco” on it, I had to give it a feel.
Oh.
My.
God.
This is the finest, softest fiber I have ever felt. I had previously had a package of Angora in my hand, and it felt a little like that, but without the fuzz factor. It is softer than alpaca and cashmere.
I picked up this little packet of fiber (it’s one ounce) as a gift for someone. Somehow I thought it was $4. Which is what another packet I had in my hands earlier had cost.
I thought the total of my purchases when I checked out was a bit more than I expected, but I did have quite a bit in my hands, some of it a little on the expensive side, so I didn’t really give it a second thought.
The next day, while waiting for our flight in the airport, I opened up my bag and pulled out my receipt. $25.00? What the heck? Yup, I looked at the little package of heavenly fiber and sure enough, it says $25.00.
I guess I was blinded by the softness!
So, this is much more than I planned to spend on a surprise gift (especially since I had purchased some other fiber as well for said giftee). No biggie, keep it for myself? Well, I don’t spin, and I don’t really have much desire to take it up just to spin 1 ounce of Guanaco fiber.
Is anyone out there interested in it? Just the $25. I’ll pay postage. Claimed!
