The DNA Scarf pattern has moved, and is now currently available at:
http://www.twosheep.com/helix/.
The DNA-Along ended on Christmas Day. Let’s see if anyone else finished in time:
Hayden made a cute mini-scarf, in 12 hours!
Jenn finished one, but doesn’t have a photo to share.
No more updates.
Thanks everyone who participated! It was fun!

DNA-Along
Saturday, we attended the wedding of 2 of our friends, Justin and Samantha. Justin is working on his PhD, and works in the field of genetics.
So when I saw the DNA Scarf pattern way back when, I knew eventually I had to knit one for him! And my self-imposed “due date” for that scarf was his wedding, November 13, 2004.
So that’s what prompted the DNA-Along.
I gave him the scarf at the reception. He LOVED it. He even took it over to all of his coworkers to show them, and they loved it too!
And how about the rest of you out there?
Chrissie finished hers awhile ago, but hasn’t taken a photo to show us.
calling_to_deep is stalled just past the ribbing section.
Jaimi is so close…or is she finished? As of midnight Sunday night, she was almost done. Did she stay up and finish or go to sleep?
And for the rest of you, better get going! There are only 38 days until Christmas and the end of the DNA-Along!

A couple more photos of the wedding reception, if you are interested:

Justin and Sam dancing away

Paul & Matt. Now this one needs a little explanation. See, they did the old-fashioned “Bridal Party dance,” and Matt had to dance with Justin’s sister. He was so stiff and robotic looking while dancing with her, that we were all cracking up (Yes, all of us at table 22, the rowdiest table at the wedding. You know it’s a good reception when people across the room know you’re from table 22 and you’ve never seen them before). Later on, Paul & Matt thought they’d recreate that fantastic dance style.

The Rug-Along is now officially closed. None of us have made any further progress since last week. Since no one is knitting along, no sense in keeping it going! If any of you have finished rugs you’d like me to link to, just leave a comment.
The DNA-Along has 2 months to go! Let’s see what everyone has done in the past week:
Warming up: Kimberly, Stephanie, & Caroline still don’t have yarn on the needles!
Off the blocks: Fibermom has started her second of three DNA scarves! Molly has a photo of the beginnings of her scarf too.
In the home stretch: Jaimi and starcrossedlady are past the ribbing and are on the second cable section.
Finish Line: Wendy is done.

Alison says Tuesdays are for Knit-Alongs, so here’s a report of the DNA-Along and the Rug-Along.
DNA:
I’m finished! Still contemplating giving the scarf another wash. Kevin said it was a little rough, but I think that was mainly due to the seed stitch texture. But a second wash can’t hurt. Anne’s finished scarf looks the same color as mine!
Kris and Jan are finished too. We’re still waiting on a pic of Liz’s finished scarf.
Jaimi finally got the hang of it, and is already to the ribbing of her scarf! Wendy is also in ribbing-land.
Gina dyed yarn for her DNA scarf, and while I think the color is very pretty, she doesn’t like it, and is going to dye the scarf again with Kool-Aid when she’s finished knitting!
Kimberly still hasn’t started!
A few of you have no mention of your DNA scarves on your blogs…are you still knitting-along with us?
Rugs:
I’ve stalled again. I was all gung-ho…going to do a square a week, but it didn’t happen. Maybe now that the DNA scarf and Madli’s shawl are finished, I can get back to it. It’d be nice to have it done by Thanksgiving.
And it appears that everyone else has stalled too. No change since the last Rug-Along update.
I’ll give us another week, and if there aren’t any more updates, then I’m going to close the Rug-Along.
